Reprsented is someone who is stuck inside a television wanting to get out. This shows how you can feel trapped in modern days, but continue to flow with the tides. The contast of dark colors and the rainbow show the complexity of how one chooses to represent themselves today.

Religion & Philosophy
Mediums: Origami 3D cutcouts (I tried making an origami sun, it did not turn out great), marker
With creating a religious symbol, it brought me to write about the meaning of life to me and my philosophy on humanity. When people say there are not enough hours in the day, its true. There are not enough hours, but there is enough time to accomplish everything you want to in your life. You have to take opportunity when it comes, even if it fails at least you took it and tried. I chose to use suns to represent this idea and to represent my religious symbol becaue the sun is what gives light to the world. I beleive everyone should give light to each other while sprinkling a little of themselves everywhere they go. This idea is represented in the way the sun splits open into a personality. It represents individualism and peace. I chose the color yellow because the meaning of humanity to be is finding happiness is every area of life. Music, art, religion. You can find joy and opportunity everywhere you go, you just have to look.

Expression Prototype
In my expression I decided to represent self-love through an abstract self-portrait. The incompleteness of the face symbolizes how many people who do not fully love themselves feel incomplete in some way. The detachment of facial figures shows the loss of identify. The white space within the face gives the impression of outside factors or worldly things playing into who a person is shapes themselves to be. The checks are painted with watercolor and take up a majority of the face as the warm colors show embarrassment of who they were. Using the medium of watercolor, it washes away the embarrassment of not being able to love who you are or the fear of hiding behind something you are not. This can be represented in my shared experience as I hid behind communities I thought were “safe” because I was too afraid to love myself and be my own person. The eyes have many lines within them and colorful lines around them. These lines represent scars. Just because you may feel like you don’t look good enough or you don’t look good enough to other doesn’t mean you are any less then who you are. These pink and purple lines represent healing and the process of self-love. It is hard to fully love everything about yourself, as everyone always has insecurities. These lines are to prove that even with self-doubt and self-hatred you are still beautiful. You should be able to look at your scars and tell yourself you are beautiful because of what you have been through. I outlined the face with hearts to symbolize the overall feeling of self-love even with being such an abstract soul.
